Humanity by Design Global Ethical AI Challenge for Inclusive Smart Communities,

24–25 June 2026, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM IST

“Humanity by Design” is an innovative hybrid educational initiative designed to empower students, educators, and early-career professionals to critically explore how Artificial Intelligence can be designed, governed, and deployed responsibly for inclusive smart communities.

The program will combine expert-led learning, participatory case-study analysis, ethical design thinking, and a global challenge sprint where participants collaboratively address real-world societal issues including AI fairness, digital inclusion, sustainability, public trust, and accessibility.

Unlike traditional technical workshops, this initiative positions participants as ethical technology architects who evaluate the social consequences of innovation and develop practical frameworks for responsible implementation in education, healthcare, transportation, and civic infrastructure.

Participants will engage through keynote sessions, interdisciplinary dialogue circles, collaborative challenge labs, and solution showcase presentations.

The initiative will generate reusable educational resources including modular slides, ethical AI casebooks, worksheets, discussion frameworks, and a facilitator toolkit that can be replicated by IEEE SSIT Chapters worldwide.

By integrating ethics, public-interest technology, and sustainability into practical engineering education, the project advances IEEE SSIT’s mission to promote technology that serves humanity responsibly and inclusively.
