Saumodip Das of IEEE

Biography:

Saumodip Das is a PhD scholar in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, specialising in Nanoscience and Engineering. Saumodip has research contributions presented and published in journals like IEEE Sensors and peer-reviewed conferences like 108th Indian Science Congress, IEEE INDISCON etc. Saumodip holds two software copyrights registered in Registry of Copyrights, Copyright Office, Government of India.
        Driven by a sense of giving back to the scientific community and the society at large, Saumodip has been an active volunteer in IEEE over the last four years and has significantly contributed at Section, Zonal, Regional and Global level initiatives. Currently, Saumodip is the Initiative Lead of Climate and Sustainability Space within IEEE CS SYP and focuses on taking initiatives for a better future. He is also Zonal Lead of IEEEXtreme 20.0, having served as Section Leads for last two editions. Saumodip is involved in IEEE SAC volunteering through IEEE Bangalore Section and has previously volunteered with IEEE India Council Student Coordination Team for last two editions.
        Saumodip is also recipient of multiple awards and scholarships both within and outside IEEE. He is recipient of IEEE Systems Council Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship 2024, IEEE Richard E Merwin Scholarship 2025 and IEEE Kolkata Section Outstanding Student Volunteer 2024. Saumodip has also secured second position at Zonal level in a National Student Innovation Competition and received accolades from the national education board of India (CBSE), the Honourable Governor and the Education Department of West Bengal, India on distinct occasions.

Yuhong Liu of IEEE

Biography:

Dr. Yuhong Liu, Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Santa Clara University. Her research interests include responsible and trustworthy AI, security and privacy of emerging applications, such as multi-agentic AI interactions at the grid edge, online social media, Internet-of-things and Blockchain. She is currently serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT), IEEE Transactions of Service Computing (TSC), and Multimedia Tools and Applications (MTAP).

She serves as the Secretary of IEEE Computer Society (CS), the IEEE CS Board of Governors member (2025-2027), Treasurer of the IEEE CS Technical and Conference Activities Board (2025-2026), and IEEE CS Distinguished Visitor (2022~2024). She is a recipient of the IEEE CS Distinguished Contributor (2025) and Technical & Conference Activity Board Rising Star Service Award (2023). 

Danielle Delgado

Biography:

Dr. Danielle Delgado is an electrical engineer, lawyer, educator, and IEEE volunteer leader from Brazil with more than 20 years of experience in the power and energy sector. She currently serves as IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Committee Member-at-Large, Coordinator of the WIE Regional Activities Subcommittee, and Vice Chair of Member Engagement for IEEE Region 9 (Latin America and the Caribbean). Throughout her IEEE journey, she has led initiatives focused on leadership development, member engagement, diversity and inclusion, STEM outreach, and professional growth. Danielle has organized regional and international programs that connect students, young professionals, academia, and industry, helping to create opportunities for women in STEM. She is passionate about energy transition, innovation, education, and empowering future generations of engineers through collaboration, mentorship, and community building.

Abdullateef Aliyu

Biography:

Abdullateef is an accomplished Director of Project & Networks at Phase 3 Telecom. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), and a master's degree in information and communication technology (ICT) with Honours from the Northern University of Malaysia. He is also a certified business analyst and has completed certification from the United States Telecommunication Training Institute (USTTI) in Washington, DC.

Highlights of Abdullateef's career include a senior management role at Suburban West Africa, followed by a role at Phase 3 Telecom in 2013. He has played a vital role in expanding the company's optical aerial and underground infrastructure, which spans over 10,000 km. He has also led the successful implementation of the Phase 3 Telecom transmission network backbone nationwide between 2019 and 2023. Abdullateef has contributed to the deployment of numerous high-profile projects for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, earning him industry recognition.

He is a Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE, serving as the IEEE Region 8 Zone representative and member of the MGA Board), He chaired the IEEE Student Activities Committee in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) 2023-2024. He founded the IEEE Smart Village Africa Regional Group in 2020, which has grown to about 1,000 members from 45 African countries. He is also involved in several committees and boards related to engineering, technology, and humanitarian initiatives. He holds numerous certifications, including Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Manager Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional, and Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA). He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a member of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a Professional Member of the Eta Chapter of the Board of Governors.

Abdullateef’s contributions to his field have been widely recognised, and he is the recipient of several awards and accolades. These include the Leadership and Innovative Award, Best Creativity Award, and Excellence in Leadership Award from Phase 3 Telecom and IEEE Smart Village, as well as the Award of Excellence from IEEE Nigeria Section, NSE Maitama branch, MGA Board Young Professionals Achievement Award, and Outstanding Volunteer of IEEE R8 ASYP Congress (EMEA) in various years.

Emna Amri

Biography:

Dr. Emna Amri holds a PhD in computer science and works as an AI researcher and consultant based in France. She specializes in machine learning and computer vision, applying deep learning to real world environmental and industrial challenges such as offshore oil slick detection, waste management, and plant detection. Her work bridges academia and industry, with over ten publications across journals, books, and conferences. A dedicated educator, she teaches and mentors students worldwide. She also volunteers as a mentor with Télémaque in France and with IEEE globally. As former Chair of IEEE Region 8 WIE, she led the region to a key milestone, growing WIE membership into five figures, past 11,000, and bringing WIE to nine new countries. In 2025, she chaired the first IEEE International Leadership Summit in Paris. She serves as YP Chair of the IEEE France Section and is an active member of IEEE WIE and the Computer Society globally.  

Grace Lewis

Biography:

Grace Lewis, PhD, is a Principal Researcher at the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI), where she leads the Tactical Edge and AI-Enabled Systems (TAS) initiative. Her research focuses on evolving software engineering and architecture principles and practices to meet the demands of emerging technologies, currently serving as the Principal Investigator for a project on establishing the practice of integrated test and evaluation for machine learning (ML) capabilities. A recognized leader in her field, Dr. Lewis is the 2026 President of the IEEE Computer Society. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a Master in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.Sc. in Software Systems Engineering alongside a Post-Graduate Specialization in Business Administration from Icesi University in Colombia.

Hironori Washizaki

Biography:

Hironori Washizaki received his Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from Waseda University in 2003. He is a Professor and Associate Dean of the Research Promotion Division at Waseda University and a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Informatics. He has served as a director and advisor to companies, including eXmotion and SI&C, bridging academia and industry in computing, particularly in software and AI engineering.

Hironori is the Immediate Past President of the IEEE Computer Society and is co-chairing the IEEE TAB AdHoc Committee to Refine Budgeting Process as well as the CS AdHoc Committee on AI Strategy. He has extensive experience in technical leadership and IEEE governance, including roles as TAB Budget Process WG Chair and SWEBOK Editor. He has received numerous honors, including the Computer Best Paper Award and the Spirit of the CS Award. Beyond IEEE, he contributes to international initiatives, including ISO/IEC.

Winnie Ye

Biography:

Dr. Winnie Ye is a Fellow of Optica, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), currently a Full Professor in the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. She was also a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Nano-scale IC Design for Reliable Opto-Electronics and Sensors from 2009 to 2021. Her expertise lies in silicon photonics, with diverse applications in telecommunications, data communication, biophotonics, and renewable energy.
Dr. Ye received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, followed by advanced studies in Photonics. Dr. Ye earned her M.A.Sc. and Ph.D degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and Carleton University, respectively. After completing her doctoral studies, she joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University as a NSERC postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Ye returned to Carleton as a faculty member in 2009.
Dr. Ye’s outstanding contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious international and national awards, including the 2025 IEEE Canada W.S. Read Gold Medal Award, 2025 Optica’s Robert E. Hopkins Leadership Award, 2021 IEEE MGA Leadership Award, and the 2020 Partners In Research’s National Technology and Engineering Ambassador Award, the 2018 IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Inspiring Member Award, the 2018 Engineering Medal for Research and Development from the Ontario Professional Engineers (PEO), and the PEO Ottawa Chapter’s 2018 Engineering Excellence Award. In September 2019, Dr. Ye was honored with the Provost’s Fellowship in Teaching Award, earning her the title of Carleton University’s Teaching Fellow. She also received Carleton University’s Graduate Mentoring Award in 2022. In addition, she has been recognized with MRI’s Early Researcher Award (ERA) in 2012, the Research Achievement Award from Carleton University in 2026 and 2013, and the 2021 Research Achievement Award from Carleton’s Faculty of Engineering and Design.
In addition to her research and teaching achievements, Dr. Ye has actively contributed to her field by serving as the Chair of Optica’s Photonics and Opto-Electronics Technical Division from 2021 to 2023. She currently holds the Global Chair position of the IEEE Women in Engineering for 2025-2026 and serves an elected member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Photonics Society.

Andrew Seely

Biography:

Andy teaches Computer Science at Hillsborough College, at the University of Maryland Global Campus, and at Schiller International University. Previous teaching positions include the University of Tampa, the University of Maryland University College Europe, and Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences in Oslo, Norway.

Andy is the Vice President for Membership and Geographic Activities for the IEEE Computer Society, the world’s leading society for computing and engineering. In his executive role, he sets the agenda for global membership for over 50,000 students and professionals world-wide, and he oversees committees for geographic activities, awards and recognition, distinguished visitors, students and young professionals, and new initiatives.  

His 30 years of professional experience includes Director of Architecture and Engineering at cybersecurity firm MindPoint Group, Vice President for Solution Architecture for National Security and Space at SAIC, and engineering and leadership positions at General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and Computer Science Corporation.  

Sneha Satish Hegde

Biography:

Dr. Sneha Satish Hegde is an electrical engineer and researcher specializing in dielectric materials, high-voltage insulation systems, and the reliability of future energy networks. She earned her Ph.D. in Electronics from the University of Montpellier, France, and her research focuses on insulation aging, advanced diagnostics, dielectric characterization, and sustainable materials for HVDC and MVDC applications. Beyond research, Dr. Hegde is an active IEEE volunteer and currently serves as a Member-at-Large of the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) Administrative Committee. She has represented IEEE Young Professionals at global forums organized by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the United Nations, COP, and other international platforms, advocating for youth engagement in energy and sustainability. Recognized for her leadership and technical contributions, she is a recipient of the IEEE Computer Society's "20 in Their 20s" honor.

Sawssen Haj Amor

Biography:

Sawssen haj amor is  a journalist and the CEO of Business Talk, a media agency covering the biggest events in Tunisia. she helps people grow their businesses and give them the confidence to speak up and be heard. For her, every story and every event is a chance to help someone move forward.

Islam Tharwat Abdel Halim

Biography:

Islam Tharwat Abdel Halim received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees and his Ph.D. degree in computer and systems engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. His Ph.D. thesis was granted the best thesis award. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Information Technology and Computer Science, Nile University (NU), Giza, Egypt. He has authored many research articles in various refereed conferences and journals, including IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine, Computer Networks (Elsevier), and Wireless Networks (Springer). His current research interests include IoT, Fog/Edge computing, mobile and wireless networks, with emphasis on security and performance evaluation in vehicular communication, and 5G networks. He is a senior member of the IEEE and is currently appointed as IEEE Computer Society Coordinator for Region 8 (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East) as well as the founder and current co-chair for the IEEE CS AI Caravan initiative. Also, he is the chair of the IEEE Egypt Section Consultants Network and the vice-chair of ACM Cairo and CS Egypt Chapters. Besides, he has over 20 years of experience in the field of information technology and digital transformation. He is a member of the Digital Transformation Committee at Nile University and participated in the development of the digital transformation training plan for the Egyptian government. He has also participated in numerous national projects in the Ministry of Finance, the Tax and Customs authorities, and the government certificate authority. Furthermore, he has obtained several accredited certifications from major global IT companies such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, and IBM. He contributed to the establishment and organization of several local and international conferences in the field of computer engineering and sciences, serving as a session chair, invited speaker, program committee member, and editor for various international conferences and journals. In addition, he is a member of several specialized technical committees, including the IEEE computer Society special technical community on Blockchain.

Imen Selmi

Biography:

Imen Selmi is an AI Engineer at Scissero and a Google Developer Groups (GDG) Organizer, Women Techmakers Ambassador, and MLflow Ambassador. She educates developers and shares content on generative AI, MLOps, and production AI systems through speaking, mentorship, and technical resources.

Biography:

Mohamed Zouari is an active IEEE volunteer from Tunisia, currently serving as Lead of IEEE CS AI Caravan Tunisia, Social Media Coordinator & Designer for IEEE Computer Society Region 8, and VTools Coordinator for the IEEE Systems Council Tunisia Chapter.
