Autonomous SRE with Safety Guardrails

Autonomous agents are reshaping incident response and infrastructure
management, but deploying AI-driven SRE in regulated financial systems
introduces novel challenges: safety, explainability, and compliance
drift. This presentation covers:

1. Why traditional alert-driven SRE breaks down at scale and how
autonomous agents powered by causal inference solve this
2. The critical safety challenge: why unguarded AI agents create
regulatory risk in finance and how to implement guardrails
3. Building knowledge graphs from incident data using language models
for proactive prevention
4. The emerging career path for engineers transitioning into
autonomous systems roles

Biography:

Ajay is an IEEE Senior Member with 8-12 years of experience in SRE and
cloud-native infrastructure. My research focuses on AI-driven
reliability engineering for regulated financial systems. I have
published five peer-reviewed papers on causal inference, LLM-powered
incident intelligence, compliance automation, and predictive
analytics. I maintain several open-source tools for autonomous SRE
(agentsre, sre-agent, ai-sre-guardrails) and hold a pending utility
patent for safety guardrails in autonomous systems.
