CUHK-UESTC-Glasgow Summer School
The IEEE Chengdu Section is partnering with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CHUK), the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), and the University of Glasgow (UofG) to present this summer school, offering a course focused on engineering in biomedical electronic systems.
Course Aim
The course aims to provide students with the opportunity to apply foundational engineering principles to the construction of biomedical electronic systems. It focuses on the practical integration of embedded programming, analogue circuits, signal processing, and artificial intelligence. Through a collaborative, start-up-style environment, the course develops the ability to analyse user needs, apply project management methodologies, and communicate technical feasibility through structured product pitches.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Construct and integrate functional biomedical electronic prototypes by applying fundamental embedded programming logic to physical analogue sensor circuits.
2. Analyse raw engineering datasets by applying appropriate digital signal processing filters and foundational artificial intelligence models to extract meaningful information.
3. Apply project management and lean start-up methodologies to develop and effectively communicate a commercially viable engineering product pitch.
