Join the IEEE PES & IAS Schenectady Chapters for an in-person tour of the NYISO Operations Control Center. As the independent, nonprofit entity overseeing New York State’s power grid, NYISO ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the bulk power system.

This event offers a look inside the real-time operations hub managing the state’s high-voltage transmission network. Attendees will see firsthand how operators continuously monitor grid conditions, dispatch generation resources to meet dynamic demand, and maintain system stability—all while supporting the strategic transition toward a more resilient and sustainable energy future.

  • 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Check-in and security processing (NYISO Lobby)
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: NYISO Operations Control Center Tour
  • Capacity: Attendance is strictly limited to 40 guests. Register early to secure your spot!

Security & Registration Requirements

⚠️ Important: Access will be denied if your registration name does not match your physical identification.

  • Valid Identification: All attendees must present a valid, government/state-issued photo ID.
  • Registration & RSVP: Provide your full legal name exactly as it appears on your ID when registering.
  • Special Clearance: If you do not possess a U.S. state-issued ID, notify the tour host immediately. Non-U.S. citizens must submit a passport copy at least two weeks in advance to secure facility clearance.
