IEEE STUDENT PAPER CONTEST @UNICT
“CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS FOR WELLNESS AND SUSTAINABILITY” The Internal Student Paper Contest (SPC) is an academic competition organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Catania (UNICT), with the support of the IEEE CAS and IA/PELS Chapters.
The SPC is a research-oriented competition in which student teams at UNICT design and develop an innovative project, applying scientific methods, technical skills, and interdisciplinary approaches. Participants present their project to a judging committee, demonstrating the project’s conceptual foundations, methodological choices, and technological implementation.
The theme of the 2025–2026 contest is “Circuits and Systems for Wellness and Sustainability”. Participants are invited to develop solutions to address challenges related to human well-being, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency. The contest promotes student research and technological development within the UNICT community while strongly encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. It provides a structured environment in which students can work in teams, integrate diverse technical competencies, and develop both scientific and professional skills. By simulating the scientific research process, the contest fosters teamwork, cross-disciplinary problem solving, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
