IEEE Boston Reliability presentation: AI-Enabled Unit Testing to Bost Embedded Software Reliability
This event will be hybrid, but we encourage in-person attendance. Registration is free, but is required so that we can plan pizza, salad, and beverages.
When arriving Wednesday evening, please be prepared to show a government-issued photo ID, such as a drivers license, at the main gate at Wood Street. State that you are attending the IEEE Reliability meeting in the Main Cafeteria.
After parking, walk towards the main building near the flagpole. Before entering, look left, and walk down the steps. At the bottom of the steps, turn right. Walk straight through the double set of double doors and straight into the Main Cafeteria.

Abstract:
Unit testing is essential for the reliability of embedded software, which often operates in critical, hard-to-update environments where software failures can have severe real-world consequences. AI-enabled unit testing is driving a powerful transformation by shifting the paradigm from reactive debugging to proactive assurance that anticipates failure scenarios upfront. Furthermore, it moves the industry from manual effort to intelligent automation via self-healing workflows. By evolving static scripts into adaptive testing ecosystems, this approach sustains high test coverage and controls maintenance costs—even in resource-constrained environments.

Olga Koroleva is the Director of Software Reliability & Quality at Schneider Electric.
She has more than two decades in the SW development industry having launched her career as a Junior Software Developer at Motorola in 2001, and then worked at ARRIS and at iRobot in Principal Engineering roles. She has a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering.
