George Sidders

Abstract: This informal presentation will provide an overview of the IEEE Senior Member grade,

including eligibility requirements, the application process, and the associated professional     benefits. This will include an outline of the Region 3 Senior Member Evaluation Committee (SMEC) and how they can help provide senior member nominators, and reference providers.  Following a brief presentation, we will host a Q&A session and offer on-site guidance for attendees interested in starting their upgrade application and provide a handout of a "Resume Template" made for the A&A panels.

Biography:

                 Mr. George Sidders is an IEEE Life Senior Member.  He is a retired manufacturing plant engineer with Trilogy Communications and a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with 26 years of active duty service in radar, communications, and electronics systems. Currently, he is a member of the IEEE Region 3 Senior Member Elevation Committee (SMEC) and the Chair of the Life Member Affinity Group (LMAG) of the IEEE Mississippi Section.   He has helped over 100 IEEE Members become Senior Members.  He has served on a number of IEEE Admission and Advancement (A&A) Senior Member Review Panels, including the last one in June 2026.
