The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and IEEE CEDA Student Chapter in association with the IEEE KSSEM Student Branch, successfully organized a Tech Talk on “Memory’s Crucial Role in the AI Revolution” on 28th March 2026 at the Architecture Seminar Hall, K.S. School of Engineering and Management (KSSEM), Bengaluru.

The session was delivered by Mr. Sajal Mittal, Chair, IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter 2026 and Associate Director at Samsung Semiconductors. The technical talk aimed to provide students and faculty members with insights into the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry and the increasing importance of memory technologies in Artificial Intelligence systems.

The speaker explained how modern AI applications rely heavily on advanced memory architectures for high-speed data processing, efficient computation, and large-scale model execution. The session highlighted the transformation of memory systems from traditional storage units to critical components driving AI performance and semiconductor innovation. Key topics discussed included memory-intensive computing, AI hardware architecture, system-level design considerations, and current challenges such as bandwidth limitations, power efficiency, and scalability in AI infrastructure. The session also emphasized the growing demand for skilled professionals in semiconductor research and development, particularly in areas related to memory technologies and AI hardware acceleration.

An interactive question-and-answer session followed the technical talk, during which students engaged with the speaker on topics such as semiconductor career opportunities, industrial research trends, and skill development pathways. The discussion provided clarity on industry expectations and motivated students to explore careers in semiconductor and AI domains.

Overall, the session successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, offering valuable exposure to emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence and semiconductor systems. It inspired participants to pursue innovation, research, and professional growth in the evolving field of AI-driven hardware technologies.
