Bit by Bit: Building the Future
Bit by Bit: Building the Future
Bit by Bit: Building the Future is a hands-on educational workshop organized by the IEEE Faculty of Sciences of Sfax CIS & CS Student Branch chapters to introduce children aged 5–12 to programming, embedded systems, and computational intelligence using BBC micro:bit devices. Through interactive, project-based activities and block-based programming with MakeCode, participants learn fundamental coding concepts such as sequencing, conditionals, loops, and decision-making while exploring the micro:bit's sensors and components.
The workshop emphasizes learning by doing, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving through practical challenges. It also promotes inclusivity by collaborating with local schools and supporting children from underserved communities.
To ensure a lasting educational impact, the micro:bit kits used during the workshop will be donated to participating schools, enabling continued STEM learning beyond the event. The project aims to inspire young learners, strengthen early STEM education, and foster interest in engineering, technology, and computational intelligence. Funding supports the acquisition of micro:bit kits, educational resources, and event logistics.
the event was held on juin 25,26 then took a 2 day break then the final day was on juin 29th
