CODE RED: System Under Attack - Competitive Programming & Debugging Contest

CODE RED: System Under Attack was a three-round competitive programming and debugging contest built around the narrative of a compromised system that participants had to access, debug, and restore. The event tested computing fundamentals, fault isolation in C and C++ code, and algorithmic problem solving under strict time constraints.

• Round 1 - System Access: A real-time Mentimeter quiz with 20 objective questions on C and C++ fundamentals, logic, number systems, ciphers, and computing concepts; the top 10 teams advanced.
• Round 2 - Debug the Attack: A buzzer-based debugging round where teams identified and fixed faults in C and C++ code; the top 6 teams advanced.
• Round 3 - System Restore: A 30-minute HackerRank competitive programming contest involving arrays, strings, searching, and frequency-based logic in C or C++.
• Learning Outcome: Participants strengthened code tracing, static analysis, rapid fault isolation, and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
• Recognition: Winning teams received gift hampers, while participants received certificates.

The report records around 140+ participants in its participant section, while the event narrative notes a turnout of 150 participants competing in teams. The event concluded with prize distribution, closing remarks, and a vote of thanks to the participants, volunteers, and organizing committee, marking a successful technical experience under NEXORAE 2.O.
