Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal in association with IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA), Bangalore Chapter, and the IEEE Student Branch (STB 10147), SMVITM organized Three days Faculty Development program on AI-Driven Electronic Design Automation and VLSI System Design: Theory to Practice from 06 to 08 August 2026 in online mode.
The Faculty Development Program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO, Sode Group of Educational Institutions. A significant highlight of the event was the inauguration of the IEEE CEDA Student Branch Chapter by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sajal Mittal, Associate Director, Samsung Semiconductor India Research, and Chair, IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Sajal Mittal appreciated the department for organizing the FDP on a contemporary and industry-relevant theme. He stressed the importance of continuous learning, innovation, and stronger collaboration between academia and industry to meet the growing demands of the semiconductor sector.

Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, congratulated the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for organizing the FDP in collaboration with IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter. He encouraged participants to actively engage in the technical sessions and hands-on activities to enhance their expertise in AI-driven Electronic Design Automation and VLSI technologies.

Delivering the presidential address, Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO of Sode Group of Educational Institutions, appreciated the organizers for initiating such a timely academic program and emphasized the importance of faculty development initiatives in strengthening technical competence, research, innovation, and industry readiness.

Dr. Arun Upadhyaya, Head, Department of ECE welcomed the gathering. Mr. Chetan R introduced the guest. Ms. Chandana proposed the vote of thanks and Dr. Shilpa Kamath compeered the program.
