1st Sumo Robot Championship
The IEEE UFAL Student Branch, through its RAS (Robotics and Automation Society) chapter, held the 1st Sumo Robot Championship, hosted during SECOMP (Semana da Computação). The event brought together students and teams who put their robots to the test in sumo-style matches, using a round-robin format to determine the final standings ahead of the decisive rounds.
The championship featured 12 teams: Kenan e Kel, Space Robots, MS, AGS - Bárbara, Bugado, Vespa, Titanbots, Metabee, Sucratron, Ironmind, Cyberdragon, and Yokozuna. Each match pitted two robots against each other in a circular arena, with the goal of pushing the opponent out of the ring.
The event exceeded expectations, turning the venue into a true arena of challenge and strategy, with enthusiastic support from the crowd and plenty of excitement throughout the matches.
Final Results:
- 🥇 1st place: Kenan e Kel
- 🥈 2nd place: Space Robots
- 🥉 3rd place: MS
- 4th place: AGS - Bárbara
