THE INPUT-OUTPUT PROBLEM was a guest lecture focused on the legal and ethical dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with particular emphasis on ownership, intellectual property, and responsible AI usage. Delivered in a live AI creation and discussion format, the session combined real-time demonstration with critical analysis of the legal and creative implications of generative AI.

For instance, countries such as China maintain more flexible data collection and AI development policies, enabling faster technological progress, while other countries enforce stricter data protection and privacy regulations - measures that may slow development but offer stronger safeguards for users.

Biography:

Dr. Althaf Marsoof is an Associate Professor at the College of Business, Nanyang Business School, NTU Singapore. Operating uniquely at the intersection of technology and legal frameworks, he holds a BSc in Information Technology along with an impressive suite of postgraduate law degrees: an LLM from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil from the University of Queensland, and a PhD from King’s College London. Dr. Marsoof’s research focuses heavily on digital policy, internet intermediary liability, and Generative AI ownership. His work investigates how emerging technologies disrupt foundational intellectual property laws, making him a critical voice for developers, engineers, and legal professionals navigating the modern digital landscape.
