Ergon Garbutt Substation Tour

IEEE Northern Australia Section members are invited to attend a site visit to the Ergon Energy Garbutt Substation and Operational Control Centre. The site visit provides a valuable opportunity for IEEE members to gain practical insights into substation operations and engage with electricity supply industry professionals. The site visit will aim to provide:

• ·         An overview of the Garbutt Substation and its role within the local electricity network.
• ·         A tour of the substation, including relevant safety procedures.
• ·         An introduction to key substation equipment, including the indoor 66 kV switchgear, and associated protection, control and operational practices.
• ·         A tour of the Ergon Energy Operational Control Centre, highlighting recent upgrades to the SCADA system.
