Introduction of RF/Analog IC Design
Biography:
Taufiq Alif Kurniawan is a faculty member of Universitas Indonesia, Depok, Indonesia, in the field of analog electronics, and radio frequency integrated circuits design (RFICs). He was born in a small village, Tersidilor, Purworejo district, Jawa Tengah, Indonesia on August 24, 1987. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Universitas Indonesia, Depok, Indonesia in 2009, and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Engineering, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2011. He received full scholarship during M.S. degree with his research interest on low noise amplifier and inductor design.
He joined Universitas Indonesia as a faculty member in 2011. During 2011 to 2013, the subjects he taught were device electronics, VLSI design, analog circuits, electronic circuits, microprocessor and microcontrollers, and RFIC design. He initiated an international research collaboration between his institution and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in the design of fully integrated transceiver for m-BWA applications funded by Indonesia Government Research Grant. In national scale, he received several research grant for RFICs research. He was also a member of Indonesia fisherman radio design team funded by Ministry of Communication and Informatics Republic of Indonesia in 2012. In 2012, He served as general treasurer of IEEE Indonesia Joint Chapter Microwave, Theory and Techniques dan Antennas and Propagation (MTT/AP).
Started on October 2013, he received full scholarship honored by Hitachi Scholarship Foundation (US$ 27,394/year) for pursuing doctoral degree. And since April 2014, he has been taking a doctoral degree at the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems, Waseda University, Japan. His major is Low Power RFICs and MMICs design under supervision of Prof. Toshihiko Yoshimasu.
After returning from Japan, he continued his research on RFIC Design. His current research interests include low-noise amplifiers and programmable gain amplifiers for high-speed communication.
