Introduction to Research and IEEE Paper Writing
This practical workshop, jointly organised by IEEE IES Rwanda, IEEE MTT-S Rwanda and IEEE ComSoc Rwanda, supports students, researchers and early-career engineers as they move from a research idea to an IEEE conference submission.
The programme covers four connected stages:
1. From research gap to proposal — literature review, defining the contribution, research questions and objectives.
2. From methodology to results — experimental design, data analysis, figures and interpretation.
3. IEEE paper, LaTeX and poster — paper sections, IEEE templates, equations, references and research-poster design.
4. Conference selection and submission — calls for papers, scope matching, peer review and camera-ready files.
The sessions are practical and designed to help participants apply each stage to their own research. The workshop takes place on 14 November 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM CAT.
