The OneAquaHealth Hackathon Learning Series continues on 27 August 2026 with its fourth session, Informatics, Technology & Standards, covering HL7 FHIR alongside a hands-on sandbox experience. Having moved from the project's scientific basis through One Digital Health and FAIR data principles, the series now turns to how those principles work in practice. Environmental sensor feeds, citizen observations, and health data rarely speak the same language — the problem set out in Track 7: Digital Health Standards, though it reaches well beyond that track. Any prototype drawing on more than one data source runs into it eventually.
Participants will gain practical experience navigating HL7 FHIR models within our dedicated sandbox environment, ensuring your innovations align with global One Digital Health and FAIR data principles. With the August 31 Hackathon registration deadline fast approaching, now is the perfect time to arm your team with the skills necessary to build breakthrough solutions and compete for the $3,000+ prize pool.

Biography:
Stratos K. is a Senior Research Associate at HL7 Europe and Doctoral Researcher at Hellenic Mediterranean University, specializing in freshwater ecosystem monitoring, environmental informatics, and sensor-driven environmental analysis. His work within the OneAquaHealth Horizon project focuses on developing environmental and health-data integration pipelines, structured environmental datasets, interoperability models, and reproducible monitoring tools. His research combines in-situ environmental measurements, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, ecohydrological assessment, and data-driven workflows, with publications spanning freshwater and urban stream health, environmental monitoring, and the relationship between environmental conditions and public health

Biography:
Giorgio Cangioli is a Senior Consultant and Technical Lead at HL7 Europe, with extensive experience in healthcare interoperability, eHealth architecture, and international health-data standards. He serves as a Board Member of HL7 Europe, Vice-Chair of HL7 Italy, and has held leadership roles within HL7 International, including the Technical Steering Committee and Affiliate Engagement Committee. He has contributed to major interoperability initiatives including the International Patient Summary (IPS), FAIRness for FHIR, FAIR4Health, X-eHealth, and UNICOM, and has supported European cross-border health-data exchange and semantic interoperability programs. His work spans HL7 FHIR, CDA, FAIR principles, healthcare standards, semantic interoperability, and implementation guidance, making him a leading contributor to the development and adoption of interoperable digital-health standard

Biography:
Gora Datta, FHL7, SMIEEE, SMACM, is a globally recognized Digital Health and Health Informatics leader, standards expert, educator, and technology entrepreneur with more than four decades of experience spanning digital health, public health informatics, interoperability, and emerging technologies. He serves as Chair of the IEEE Orange County Computer Society Chapter and is an Engineering Teaching Faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley. An HL7 International Fellow, his work encompasses HL7 and healthcare interoperability, Artificial Intelligence, digital health standards, workforce development, and global health innovation. He has collaborated with government agencies and international organizations and is actively engaged in building interdisciplinary programs that connect healthcare, technology, standards, academia, and industry.

Speaker Bio – Pradyumna Kodgi
Pradyumna Kodgi, FBCS, IEEE Senior Member, is a Principal Product Manager at Oracle, specializing in cloud integration, healthcare interoperability, multi-cloud architecture, and AI-driven integration. With nearly two decades of experience in enterprise technology, he has worked across roles spanning software development, integration architecture, solution engineering, and product management. His current work focuses on Oracle Integration Cloud, healthcare integration, managed file transfer, and emerging Agentic AI and MCP-based integration patterns. Pradyumna is also actively involved in IEEE, serving as Vice Chair of the IEEE Orange County EMBS Chapter and Program Manager for the IEEE Orange County GET-AI Series, while contributing to technical education, hackathons, conference reviewing, and AI-focused professional initiatives
