Tim Swift of Roam Robotics
Panel: Next-Gen Wearables & Assistive Robotics for Active Aging and Independence - A $7 Trillion Market
Founder and CEO, Roam Robotics
Biography:
Dr. Swift holds a Master's and PhD in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley, focused on robotic controls. He is the CEO and Founder of Roam Robotics, developing wearable robotics designed to maximize access and usefulness in real-world scenarios. Roam's products leverage novel materials to deliver wearable assistance at a weight and cost unmatched by conventional techniques, and are currently fielded in some of the most demanding environments in the world today, including military operations and the daily lives of people with knee pain. Previously, Dr. Swift was an early employee at Ekso Bionics, where he was one of the original three-person team that invented Ekso, the lower-extremity rigid exoskeleton for gait rehabilitation and paraplegic mobility. As the original controls technical lead, he oversaw high-level software development for what has since become one of the most commercially successful exoskeletons in the world.
