A Two-Day Student Workshop ON Research Roadmap (Idea – Project – Prototype – Publish)
Research Roadmap is a two-day workshop designed to strengthen students’ research capabilities by providing a comprehensive understanding of research methodology and academic best practices. The programme covers the complete research process, including developing a research mindset, identifying research problems, conducting literature reviews, designing research methodologies, analyzing and interpreting data, and preparing research reports. Through expert-led sessions and interactive discussions, participants will gain the knowledge and practical skills required to conduct quality research, communicate scientific findings effectively, and contribute to innovation and academic excellence.
All participating students are requested to bring three to five research papers related to their area of interest, selected in consultation with their respective mentors.
Total intake: 60 (20-25 teams of 2–3 members each)

Formal inauguration of the two-day workshop, welcome address, introduction to the objectives and expected outcomes of Research Roadmap 2026.
10:30 AM – 11:45 AM | Session 1: Developing Research Mindset & Problem Identification with Potential Impact

Introduction to research thinking, identifying meaningful real-world problems, evaluating research potential, and selecting problems with academic and societal impact.

12:00 PM – 1:15 PM | Session 2: How to Read a Research Paper

A practical three-pass reading approach to understand research papers effectively, using papers brought by participants.

2:00 PM – 3:15 PM | Session 3: Literature Search, Finding & Organizing Research Papers

Hands-on session covering database and keyword searches, systematic collection of relevant literature, and organizing research papers using Zotero.

3:30 PM – 4:45 PM | Session 4: Conducting Literature Review, Identifying the Research Gap & Formulating Research Objectives

Participants will develop a synthesis matrix from their selected research papers and learn to identify research gaps and formulate clear research objectives.
DAY 2 — 21st August 2026
