After 35 successful editions, the Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC) has evolved into IEEE PES AUPEC, strengthening its role as a premier Australasian forum for the exchange of ideas, research outcomes, and technological advances in power and energy engineering.

AUPEC continues its long-established tradition of bringing together academics, researchers, students, and industry professionals from across Australasia to share and discuss emerging developments in power systems, renewable energy integration, power electronics, smart grids, energy storage, electrified transport, and other technologies shaping the next generation grid.

In 2026, IEEE PES AUPEC will be hosted by the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia, from 02–06 November 2026. The conference theme is “Smart, Sustainable and Secure: Shaping the Next Generation Grid.”
