Organized by IEEE Student Branch University of Basilicata & GDG Basilicata
Welcome to the Build with Gemma Hackathon in collaboration with Google Developer Group (GDG) of Basilicata!
An innovation sprint organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Basilicata in partnership with GDG Basilicata. Join us for an intensive 8-hour hackathon to turn ideas into working prototypes using Google’s open-source Gemma models, a Cloud-First approach, Agentic Coding, and the Spec-Driven Development methodology.
Limited spots available — Free registration!
π PRIZES, AMAZON VOUCHERS & CATERING INCLUDED! ππ
Great ideas require fuel, and outstanding work deserves real recognition! Here is what we have lined up for you:
-
π° Amazon Vouchers for the winning teams evaluated by the jury!
-
π Official Google & GDG Swag for all participants!
-
π Complimentary Lunch to recharge your energy between coding sprints!
This event is part of the global initiative promoting Google's open-source Gemma family. In just 8 hours, you will experience a modern, efficient software development workflow powered by Agentic AI.
π The 4 Methodological Pillars of the Hackathon
-
βοΈ Cloud-First & Zero Local Setup: No time wasted on complex local setups or GPU driver configurations. Claim a free API key from Google AI Studio to interact directly with the
gemma-4-31b-itmodel. -
π Spec-Driven Development (SDD): Before writing a single line of code, teams will define their project specs (
SPEC.md), including requirements, architecture, and milestones. -
π€ Agentic Coding: Leverage AI-native IDEs (e.g., Google Antigravity, Cursor, or VS Code with Gemini Code Assist). The agent reads your specifications, assists in scaffolding the application, and integrates the APIs.
-
ποΈ Pitch & Presentation Engine (NotebookLM): In the final stretch, upload your documentation to NotebookLM to synthesize key insights, generate FAQs, build a crisp 3-minute pitch script, and even produce an audio overview!
π― What Will We Build?
Accepted project scopes focus on:
