The IEEE Magnetics Society and Seagate Technology are proud to partner with the Pavek Museum to open a new exhibit covering the history of magnetic data storage in Minnesota.

Minnesota has played a significant role in the development of data storage for more than 80 years, from the early days of code breaking in the 1940s to today’s large-scale cloud and server market.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of Engineering Research Associates (ERA), which began in a small office near the University of Minnesota. To commemorate this milestone, we invite you to the unveiling of a new Seagate Technology exhibit featuring landmark data-storage technologies across generations.
