Best Women in Space Innovation Award – NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2026
Empowering Women in Space Innovation
Best Women in Space Innovation Award – NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2026:
The Best Women in Space Innovation Award will be presented as part of the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2026, taking place at Thompson Rivers University on November 14–15, 2026. The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a 48-hour hackathon that invites participants to collaborate and develop innovative solutions to challenges designed by NASA experts. The Best Women in Space Innovation Award is a dedicated local award category designed to recognize and celebrate the contributions of women participating in the event. Participants will work collaboratively to develop innovative projects using science, technology, engineering, computing, data, and creative problem-solving approaches. Eligible projects will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposed solution, innovation, effective use of technology and data, and the clarity and impact of the team’s presentation. The initiative aims to increase the visibility of women’s technical and creative contributions while encouraging greater participation and leadership by women in STEM innovation. Through this recognition, IEEE Women in Engineering will help create an inclusive environment where women can demonstrate their skills, build confidence, collaborate with others, and receive recognition for their achievements. The activity directly supports the IEEE WIE mission of connecting, supporting, and inspiring women in STEM while fostering technological innovation for the benefit of humanity.
