IEEE SLInspire - Southern Province Career Compass Session - 2026
The IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire Career Compass - Southern Province was organized by the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire National Project in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Ruhuna, powered by IFS, with the aim of providing school students with greater awareness of higher education opportunities, diverse career pathways, and future possibilities.
The session was successfully conducted on 27th September 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 12:45 p.m. at the LT1 Hall, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, with a total of 77 students representing five schools: Ginthota Maha Vidyalaya, Hinidumgoda Wijayananda Maha Vidyalaya, Hapugala Central College, Unawatuna Maha Vidyalaya, and Sudharma Vidyalaya.
The programme featured informative sessions, discussions, and interactive activities that encouraged students to explore their interests, understand different educational and career pathways, and think about their future goals. The students were given opportunities to engage with the sessions, ask questions, and gain practical perspectives on higher education and career planning.
The session provided a meaningful platform for students to broaden their understanding of opportunities beyond school and approach their future educational and career decisions with greater awareness, curiosity, and confidence.
