The 2026 IEEE EDS Mini-Colloquium, “Semiconductors in the Caribbean,” will bring together researchers, academics, postgraduate students, engineers, and professionals from Trinidad and Tobago, the wider Caribbean, and the international community for a focused technical program on semiconductor and electron-device technologies.

The event will feature distinguished lecturers presenting on advanced topics including CMOS reliability, low-power semiconductor design, oxide electronics, dielectrics in field-effect transistors, and thin-film transistors for flexible electronics.

The Mini-Colloquium is intended to strengthen semiconductor education and research, expose participants to current developments in electron-device technologies, and encourage collaboration across universities, research institutions, and industry. It also supports the broader goal of building awareness, technical capacity, and future opportunities for semiconductor research and innovation in the Caribbean.
