IEEE PES Fort Worth Monthly Meeting - Nov 17, 2026
For our November meeting, we are happy to welcome BenPaul Gilmore from Lockheed Martin to come speak on Enhancing Demand Control with Intelligent Plant Infrastructure.
Presentation:
Air Force Plant #4 enhances demand control through a network of intelligent meters that provide a comprehensive view of the facility's electrical metering and submetering systems. With one-second data resolution, the system delivers real-time visibility into plant operations. Combined with direct feedback from the ERCOT utility grid, this high-speed data enables advanced control programming that automatically responds to changing grid conditions. The result is a fully automated demand management system that optimizes energy consumption, reduces peak demand charges, and delivers significant operational cost savings.
Speaker Bio:
BenPaul Gilmore is a BSEET with 39+ years of experience in Control Systems Engineering and Energy Management Control System design and programming field. He is a Fellow with the Association of Energy Engineers with Certified Energy Manager CEM, Certified Demand Side Manager CDSM, and Certified Energy Auditor CEA ratings. Currently he is Principal Engineer and Fellow with Lockheed Martin. He is the systems administrator of U.S. Air Force / Lockheed Martin, AFP#4's Energy Management Control System (EMCS) and Plant Wide Fire Protection and Mass Notification Systems
