AI agents are advancing fast. But who governs them?
while technology evolves, career leadership remains just as important.
We’re excited to bring together ACM Richmond, IEEE TEMS Richmond, and IEEE Computer Society Richmond for a thought-provoking session bringing together perspectives on career leadership, AI governance, and agent safety.

Biography:
My active participation in the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), and other industry organizations, has taught me much more about the technology, created an extensive network of industry contacts, and given me invaluable leadership experience.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with others to help them with their work, or with their life in general. I’ve authored or co-authored over 150 technical papers and articles and five books.
When I turned 59 and reached the peak weight of my life, I began working out with a trainer and began eating healthier. I’m in my 16th year working out with trainers, am 25 pounds lighter, and used to run many 5K races, frequently winning my age group.
I enjoy mentoring young professionals, and for six years I led an Explorer Post at GE for high school boys and girls that is career-focused on STEM. We influenced over 200 high school boys and girls in six years to study engineering or computer science when they go to college.
My part-time consulting work at JDM Associates, LLC, and my volunteer work with industry organizations such as IEEE and CIGRE, is not work for me. When you are fortunate to love what you do, it is fun!
