IEEE San Diego: SCAMP Milestone Dedication

#IEEE #Milestones #History #Unisys #Rancho #Bernardo #San #Diego #SCAMP #WIE

Please join us for an IEEE Milestone dedication celebrating SCAMP, the Single Chip A-Series Mainframe Processor, designed and built at Unisys in Rancho Bernardo in 1987. An IEEE Milestone is one of IEEE's highest honors for historic technological achievement, and it is especially meaningful that this dedication will take place in the very community where SCAMP was created.

The Milestone plaque will be installed at the Rancho Bernardo History Museum, home of the Rancho Bernardo Historical Society, which preserves the rich history of the area. Technology has long been an important part of that history, and we hope this Milestone is the first of many to celebrate the technological advances made right here.

The celebration will include the plaque unveiling, presentations, and keynote speakers, followed by time to reconnect and celebrate. If you were part of SCAMP, Unisys, Burroughs, or related A-Series projects, we'd love to see you there. IEEE and community members are always welcome.

Registration is required to attend. Please register by October 26: https://cvent.me/eLPynG
