Workshop on Building a Message-Routing AI Agent: From LLM Foundations to a Hands-On Routing Application
Overview: This workshop provides a hands-on introduction to agentic AI systems, focusing on how modern Large Language Models (LLMs) can be extended into AI agents capable of perception, reasoning, and action. Participants will learn the fundamentals of agent design and build a fully functional message-routing agent using Google Colab, a free, browser-based programming platform. The workshop combines foundational concepts with practical implementation, allowing participants to develop and test an AI agent from start to finish.
Intended Audience: Open to IEEE and Non-IEEE students and researchers across all disciplines, including anyone interested in Agentic AI and relevant topics. No coding background is required; the session is beginner‑friendly while offering depth for those with technical experience.
Presenter: Andre Ziteng Zhang is a Process Intelligence Engineer & AI Developer in the AI Strategy and Solution Team at RBC. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lakehead University. His work focuses on agentic AI systems, workflow automation, and enterprise‑grade LLM applications and governance.
