Topic:

The Evolution of AI in Medical Imaging

Artificial intelligence has significantly changed medical imaging, moving from deep learning pipelines based on preprocessing, segmentation, and classification to newer foundation and multimodal models. This webinar presents the evolution of AI in medical imaging, examining pipelines for cancerous and non-cancerous abnormalities, imaging modalities, data preparation, segmentation, classification, and model selection. Key topics include emerging AI approaches such as Vision Transformers, Vision-Language Models, Large Language Models, Mamba-based State Space Models, and fuzzy learning, highlighting their capacity to learn image representations, process multimodal information, reduce computational costs, and handle uncertainty for clinically relevant AI systems.

Talk Value: This talk offers a clear roadmap of AI’s transformation in medical imaging—from task-specific deep learning to foundation and multimodal models. Participants will gain practical insight into emerging architectures, uncertainty, efficiency, and clinical translation, enabling them to critically evaluate today’s AI approaches and anticipate the technologies shaping the future of precision imaging.
