Engineering a Better Future: Inspiring Students to Help Humanity 2.0
IEEE TryEngineering STEM 2026 – “Engineering a Better Future: Inspiring Students to Help Humanity 2.0” was organized by the IEEE UET Narowal Student Branch with the support of the IEEE Lahore Section to inspire young students toward Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The program focused on introducing students to Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), and their real-world applications. The session was designed to make complex technological concepts simple, engaging, and accessible for school-aged students.
The event included an introduction to IEEE and its role in promoting engineering and technology, an interactive session on Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, hands-on STEM activities, a question-and-answer session, and student engagement activities. Students were encouraged to explore how modern technologies can be used to solve real-world problems and contribute positively to society.
The program received an enthusiastic response from students and teachers, with participants actively engaging in discussions and activities. The school administration also appreciated the initiative and expressed interest in further STEM and Artificial Intelligence sessions.

The event was successfully conducted through the collaborative efforts of IEEE UET Narowal Student Branch, IEEE Lahore Section, IEEE volunteers, speakers, teachers, and school administration. The initiative aimed not only to increase students' awareness of emerging technologies but also to encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and interest in future STEM education and careers.
The program successfully strengthened the connection between IEEE, educational institutions, and young learners while promoting accessible and meaningful STEM education.

Anees Ur Rehman led the session on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, introducing students to the fundamentals of AI, recent advancements, real-world applications, and its potential future impact. He focused on making AI concepts simple and engaging while encouraging students to explore technology, develop curiosity, and consider future opportunities in STEM.
Biography:
Anees Ur Rehman is an Electrical Engineering professional, STEM educator, IEEE volunteer, and technology enthusiast with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, IoT, emerging technologies, and engineering innovation. He is an alumnus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, where he actively contributed to the IEEE community and served as Chairperson of the IEEE UET Narowal Student Branch during the 2024–25 tenure.
Throughout his IEEE journey, Anees has been actively involved in organizing technical events, student activities, workshops, and STEM outreach initiatives. His work focuses on connecting students with emerging technologies and creating opportunities for young learners to understand how engineering and innovation can address real-world challenges.
Anees has also contributed to research in Artificial Intelligence and healthcare technology. He is a co-author of the research paper “Tuberculosis Detection in Chest X-Rays using Hybrid Deep Learning Models,” reflecting his interest in applying AI and deep learning to practical engineering and societal problems.
As an IEEE STEM program organizer and speaker, Anees has led TryEngineering outreach activities for school students, delivering sessions on Artificial Intelligence, IoT, STEM, engineering, and emerging technologies. His recent IEEE TryEngineering STEM 2026 activities included interactive AI sessions and hands-on STEM learning, with positive engagement from students and teachers.
Anees is passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers by making technology understandable, practical, and accessible. Through his professional work, research, and IEEE volunteer activities, he aims to encourage curiosity, innovation, continuous learning, and meaningful contributions to society.

Engineering Design Thinking: From an Idea to a Solution
Muhammad Danial Awan shared his perspective on engineering, technology, and innovation, helping students understand how engineering knowledge can be transformed into practical solutions. His session encouraged students to think creatively, explore technical fields, and develop an interest in solving real-world challenges through STEM.
Biography:
Muhammad Danial Awan holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore and is currently working as a Business Development Manager. With 4 years of professional experience, including almost 3 years as a Technical Research Analyst at 10xEngineers, he has expertise in semiconductor technology, business development, technical sales, and market research. He served as Chairperson of the IEEE UET Narowal Student Branch (2021–2022) and contributed to organizing the Pakistan Semiconductor Summit (PSS) 2026, managing 600+ registrations and event logistics.

Emerging Technologies & the Future of Engineering
Saamir Khan Jadoon provided an industry and engineering perspective, connecting students with practical applications of modern technology and engineering systems. He highlighted the importance of technical skills, innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning for students interested in pursuing future careers in engineering and emerging technologies.
Biography:
Saamir completed his education from Playgroup to Matriculation at The Educators School, Abbottabad Campus, with a focus on Science. I then pursued my F.Sc. in Pre-Engineering from Manjanbazam Cadet College. After completing my F.Sc., I went on to earn my degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Space Technology (IST).
