Study on monitoring sys based on UAV, LPWA, resource management on local 5G under distributed frequency spectrum sharing
This presentation reports on a monitoring system integrating UAVs and LPWA, as well as a resource allocation method for Local 5G operating in an autonomous frequency-sharing environment. By leveraging UAV mobility to approach wireless devices holding necessary observation data, the system establishes high capacity communication—utilizing high received signal power—to capture high-quality video. Incorporating hierarchical modulation into the LPWA link that supports UAV movement enables context-aware information reception. We present the concept of this integrated UAV-LPWA system and report evaluation results regarding changes in hierarchical modulation demodulation performance. Next, we established a resource allocation method to address co-frequency sharing issues in Local 5G, a private wireless system. Focusing on a beamforming setup where beams track the terminal's direction, we developed a time resource allocation method that determines beamforming direction based on terminal movement predictions. This approach makes it possible to suppress interference caused to adjacent cells to below average levels over a specific time interval. We report on the effectiveness of this method, demonstrated through both hardware-based verification and computer simulations using Local 5G.
