Ethics Awareness and Ethics Problems in AI-Generated Contents — image forensics & multimedia security
Dr. Bo Peng’s talk will introduce the objective of Ethics Awareness & Advancement Committee, the aim of the Ethics Week events, and the ethics problems in AI-Generated Contents (AIGC). The goods and bads of AIGC will be discussed, and most of all, the fake news, NSFW generated contents, privacy invasion, copyright infringement and so on. International policies on AIGC governance will also be introduced to call for wide attention of the potential ethics problems in using and deploying AIGC related technology.
Biography:
Dr. Bo Peng’s current research focuses on image forensics and multimedia security. He has published over 60 papers in prestigious international journals and conferences such as IEEE T-PAMI, TIFS, TCSVT, CVPR, ACM MM. He holds 17 granted patents and 5 software copyrights. He received numerous awards and honors, including the first prize of the Innovation Award from the China Invention Association. He currently serves as a member of the Digital Media Forensics and Security Professional Committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics, a member of the Youth Committee of the Beijing Society of Image and Graphics, and the Secretary of the IEEE Beijing Biometrics Council Chapter.

Defending Technologies for AIGC Related Ethics Threats
Prof. Jing Dong will mainly talk about several aspects of defending technologies to tackle the malicious influences of AI Generated Contents (AIGC). These include the deepfake detection technology, AIGC watermarking, facial privacy protection, and Not-Safe-for-Work (NSFW) concepts erasure. Research works from her group and the IEEE Beijing Biometrics Council Chapter will be introduced, and future technology trends will be discussed.
Biography:
Professor Jing Dong primarily conducts research in the frontiers of computer vision, biometrics, and multimedia forensics. She has published over 100 academic papers in leading international journals and conferences, and has been granted more than 30 patents. She is currently an IEEE Senior Member, and has served as IEEE Asia-Pacific Executive Committee Member (2017-2024), IEEE Asia-Pacific Awards Committee Chair (2023-2024), IEEE Asia-Pacific Women in Engineering Committee Chair (2017-2018), IEEE SPS Multimedia Forensics Technical Committee Member (2023-2026), and a member of the APSIPA Multimedia Security and Forensics Technical Committee (2020-2025). She serves as an Associate Editor for international journals such as IEEE TCSVT and IEEE TBIOM. She is currently the Secretary-General of the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG).
