Power and Energy Student Mentoring Event: From Research Ideas to Real-World Impact
This focus group discussion brings together researchers who have worked in, or currently work across, academia and industry in the power and energy sector. Aimed at students and early-career researchers, the session moves beyond generic career advice to address a specific problem: how research questions that are academically rigorous also become practically useful and how researchers can move between these two worlds. Panellists will share firsthand experience on choosing research problems, applying appropriate methodologies, and building a career that keeps both pathways open.
