MSOE IEEE DAY: Competition in the World of Vertical Competitors
Competition in the World of Vertical Competitors
How can an organization maintain a healthy, competitive marketplace when its volunteer leaders also represent competing businesses?
Chris Lambrou will discuss the structure and operation of the local real estate marketplace and explain how Metro MLS balances cooperation and competition among its participants. He will explore how self-regulation, state licensing requirements, fair housing and real estate law, technology, and business governance work together to support a fair and reliable marketplace.
The presentation will also examine how a self-regulated organization is formed, governed, and sustained through the volunteer leadership of vertical competitors. Engineering and technology professionals will gain insight into the broader systems, policies, and governance decisions that shape technology-enabled marketplaces.
