The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group at the University of Eldoret proposes a STEM mentorship and exposure session under the IEEE WIE Student-Teacher and Research Engineer/Scientist (STAR) Program.

The session is designed to connect pre-university learners with female university students pursuing different STEM disciplines. Rather than focusing on technical training, the initiative will provide learners with an opportunity to hear real experiences about pursuing STEM, university life, challenges, opportunities, and career pathways.

The session will feature a panel or fireside conversation followed by interactive mentorship circles, allowing learners to ask questions and engage directly with the mentors. The initiative aims to provide relatable STEM role models and encourage learners, particularly girls, to see STEM education and careers as achievable pathways.

Participants and student mentors will receive certificates in recognition of their participation and contribution to the session. IEEE WIE merchandise will also be provided to participating learners.

The activity is proposed in collaboration with the EldoHub Kids & Teens Program, in coordination with the EldoHub team.
