The shopping experience is undergoing a fundamental shift, one that's reshaping both the retail industry and the broader landscape of consumer technology. Where we once searched Google for a product and clicked through to a site to buy it, today's conversational engines, like Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT, can handle the entire customer journey end to end. AI agents are no longer just recommending products; they're becoming API clients capable of completing purchases on a user's behalf. This shift is creating an urgent engineering challenge: how do agents, merchants, and payment providers transact without every connection requiring a custom, one-off integration?

Join us for a session on Agentic Commerce and the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) - an open standard, backed by a coalition including Google, Shopify, Target, Walmart, Home Depot, and major payment networks, designed to solve exactly this problem. Our speaker will walk through the emerging agentic commerce landscape (UCP, ACP, and AP2), how these protocols fit together across discovery, transaction, and payment-authorization layers, and how a real UCP transaction flows from cart to checkout to order tracking.

Whether you're interested in protocol design, AI agents, e-commerce infrastructure, or the practical realities of building on an early-stage standard, this session offers a grounded, real-world perspective on where agentic commerce stands today, and where it's headed.
