Professional Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Design Workshop
Professional Technical Workshop
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Design
ICSEST-2026 Technical and Professional Development Activity
The Professional Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Design Workshop was organized as a practice-oriented technical training activity concerned with the fundamental and applied principles of photovoltaic system design, with particular emphasis upon grid-connected applications.
The workshop introduced participants to a systematic engineering approach for developing PV systems. Attention was given to PV system fundamentals, interpretation of module and inverter technical data, elementary system-sizing procedures, grid-connected system architecture, safety and protection requirements, and introductory methods for evaluating expected system performance.
Worked examples were employed to demonstrate how engineering principles may be translated into practical design decisions. Particular attention was given to the importance of technical datasheets, operating conditions, design constraints, and appropriate engineering assumptions in the selection and sizing of photovoltaic components.
The workshop was intended for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, electrical and renewable-energy engineers, energy practitioners, and professionals wishing to strengthen their understanding of practical PV-system design. The activity encouraged technical discussion and the exchange of experience among participants from academic and professional backgrounds.
