Idea Arena
Idea Arena is the on-the-spot problem-solving event of the IEEE Day celebrations, made for quick thinkers who love a challenge and work well under pressure.
Teams are given a real-world problem statement at the start of the round, on topics such as energy saving, smart cities, healthcare, transport, agriculture, sustainability or everyday technology, and they have a limited time to come up with a creative and practical solution.
There is no time for long preparation, so teams must brainstorm quickly, divide the work, sketch out their approach and decide how to explain it. After the time is up, each team steps into the arena to present its solution in a short round, followed by a few questions from the judges.
Teams are judged on creativity, practicality, clarity of thought, teamwork and how well they handle time pressure. Idea Arena is different from a prepared pitch because the challenge is unknown until the moment it begins, so it rewards imagination, adaptability and collaboration.
It teaches participants to think like real engineers who solve problems as they come. Whether you love to lead, sketch, research or present, Idea Arena is the place where every team member can contribute and shine.
The winners are chosen by the judges' scores, and the top three teams receive certificates and prizes.
