IEEE PES Orange County Site Visit: Commercial Solar Rooftop and Energy Storage System in Lake Forest, CA
Event Description:
We will visit Genomic Testing Cooperative (GTC), a commercial genetic-sequencing and testing laboratory, for a presentation about GTC’s Solar Rooftop and Battery Energy Storage System. -- The solar system is rated at 128.96 kW using 284 solar panels. The energy storage system is rated at 2 x 100 kWh using LFP batteries.
Speakers:
Mitch Zogab, president and founder of Energy Innovation Solutions (EIS), will be our lead presenter to review and discuss the Solar+Storage project, from client requirements to power engineering design decisions.
EIS is a turnkey energy management company headquartered in Aliso Viejo that focuses on integrated power projects designed to reduce costs and carbon footprints for commercial, industrial, and government entities. As an Energy Systems contractor, EIS manages solar and storage design, resiliency infrastructure planning, compliance and logistics through a network of engineers and subcontractors.
Mitch Zogab’s background involves directing commercial and industrial clean energy deployments across Southern California. Notable projects under his leadership include agricultural storage systems, solar carports in Riverside County, and advanced battery storage applications.
Arie Shen, Chief Commercial Officer and CIO at Genetic Testing Cooperative. Arie will be our host at the client site and describe the commercial laboratory business of GTC and why GTC chose to add solar and energy storage to their operations.
