Advanced Phased-Array Antennas and Feed Network Design for Next-Generation RF Systems

About Feed networks of Phased Array Antennas

Biography:

Mahesh Ramaraju is a  RF and Electromagnetic Systems Engineer and Radar System Designer with over 15 years of experience in the design and development of antenna and phased array radar systems spanning HF through Ku-band. His work covers the full engineering lifecycle — from antenna array design and electromagnetic simulation to hardware realization and system-level testing — with particular depth in radome design, digital receiver architectures, and antenna performance analysis.

At Avantel, he worked on the design and development of UHF SATCOM antennas for airborne/flight platforms. He subsequently joined Ananth Technologies as a Project Manager, where his focus shifted to phased array radar systems, leading and contributing to radar and radome engineering efforts across L, X, and Ka-band applications. Throughout his career, I have combined this simulation-driven design and radar system design work with hands-on experience in PCB and FPGA-based digital receiver systems, bridging electromagnetic design with practical hardware implementation.

His technical expertise spans antenna array design, radar system design, beamforming and beam-steering theory, monopulse tracking systems, radome (A-sandwich and C-sandwich) simulation and validation, and RF front-end/receiver chain design — including receiver protection and amplifier characterization. He brought out a strong combination of radar system design, simulation depth, and RF hardware grounding, enabling him to take radar and antenna systems from concept through validated, field-ready design.
