The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with the IEEE Computer Society – AU Student Branch, is pleased to announce CODEBURST 2.0 — C & Java Edition, organized on the occasion of IEEE Day. This event is designed to provide a competitive platform for students across all academic years and departments to test their problem-solving skills, algorithmic efficiency, and technical knowledge in core programming languages.
The event comprises two main components: a core competitive coding contest and interactive technical quizzes.
The competitive coding segment is divided into two sequential rounds:
Round 1 (Online Preliminary Round): Scheduled for October 04, participants will be tasked with solving five coding problems on an online platform. Based on accuracy and submission timing, the top 65 participants will be shortlisted for the final round.
Round 2 (Offline Final Round): Scheduled for October 06 at Venue A-205, the 65 shortlisted candidates will compete in an invigilated on-campus environment, attempting five advanced coding challenges to determine the final winners.
In addition to the core coding rounds, two interactive technical engagement activities will be hosted:
Quiz 1 (Kahoot MCQ Assessment): An interactive speed quiz consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions focusing on C and Java core concepts.
Quiz 2 (Team Technical Guessing Challenge): A collaborative team activity where participants are randomly paired into four to five teams of two. The first team member is shown a technical word and must trace/write it on the second member's back without speaking. The team that accurately guesses the highest number of words within the designated time limit will receive special prizes and goodies.
