For IEEE Student Officers:
In-person Student Trainings are scheduled at the upcoming IEEE Region 6 Area Meetings.
- Consider this the continuation to the basic virtual training session.
- One representative per student branch is invited and travel expenses are covered by the Region.
- I invite you to attend, register and prepare travel arrangements ASAP.
Student Travel guidelines for IEEE Region 6 Area Meetings:
IEEE Region 6 will cover the expenses for 1 student representative per student branch, preferably the Chair.
- This includes travel cost and 1 night hotel. (If an exception is needed due to flight availability, it needs to be approved on a case-by-case basis.)
- If the Chair is unavailable, another representative may be appointed or selected to represent the student branch.
- If students share a hotel room and commute together, more students may be acceptable, as long as the financial cost is equivalent or the same.
- Student Branch Representatives are expected to attend the entirety of the meeting for volunteer leadership training.
- All attendees must register for the event.
- Students living within a 50-mile radius of the Area meeting location do not normally receive any travel or meal reimbursements.
Other exceptions may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. - Volunteers will be reimbursed using the Concur platform. For general guidance on expenses, refer to the IEEE Expense Reimbursement Guidelines for Volunteers.
Student officers are expected to attend the virtual IEEE Student Branch Officer Training - Fundamentals, or review the materials before the in-person meeting.
