Beyond the Gantt Chart: Managing Real-World Tech Projects
He discussed how project management extends well beyond schedules and deadlines, drawing on real-world industry experience. He explained that most projects succeed or fail because of people and communication rather than the tools used to plan them. He highlighted the importance of clear planning, strong leadership, and teamwork, and spoke about how teams manage risks and adapt when things do not go as planned. He also shared practical lessons on turning ideas into successful outcomes and advised students to build skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving early in their careers. The session ended with a Q&A, where participants asked about project management in the industry.
