Inspiring Future Women in STEM – School Outreach Activity
With the aim of encouraging high school students to explore STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), we will visit a school in La Florida on November 3, from 2:45 PM to 4:15 PM.
This school was traditionally an all-girls institution and only recently became coeducational. As a result, its upper-grade classes are still composed almost entirely of female students. During this activity, we will work with a 11th-grade class (Tercero Medio) of 45 students. The main goal of the event is to bring engineering and science closer to the students through hands-on activities, real-life experiences, and inspiring female role models in STEM. Through these activities, we hope to help them discover the different possibilities within these fields and encourage them to consider STEM as a potential academic and professional path.
