[Legacy Report] DMO Space Systems Program Office: Technical Presentation and Site Visit

The ACT Chapter of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society has arranged a site visit for IEEE members and guests to the Defence Material Organisation's Space Systems Program Office (SPO) at Fern Hill Park.
The Space SPO is responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of satellite and strategic ground station satellite communication (SATCOM) capabilities.
The Space SPO is responsible for several phases of Joint Project 2008 MILSATCOM. Capabilities the Space SPO is delivering through these phases include access to the six satellite Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) constellation, several stages of anchoring for WGS satellites including significant ground stations in the east and west of Australia and a hosted UHF payload onboard the Intelsat IS-22 satellite.
The Space SPO is the WGS Satellite System Expert and the Australian WGS Certification Authority, responsible for providing the system of policy, processes, certification standards and organisation to facilitate certification of Australia's SATCOM equipment for operation with WGS satellites.
