IEEE DAY 2026 – Lebanese University Faculty of Engineering
Organized by: ULFG III IEEE Student Branch
In Collaboration With: Electroslab • Al Beqaa Hospital • Faculty Music Club
Date: October 13, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Venue: Lebanese University Faculty of Engineering – Hadath Campus
IEEE Day is an annual celebration that highlights IEEE’s global impact and its commitment to advancing technology, innovation, and collaboration. This year, the IEEE Lebanese University Student Branch is proud to host an engaging IEEE Day event at the Lebanese University Faculty of Engineering – Hadath Campus on October 13th.
The event aims to bring together students, faculty members, and engineering enthusiasts through interactive technical activities, competitions, hands-on demonstrations, and social experiences. The event will showcase a wide range of technology fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Competitive Programming (CP), Computer Vision (CV), Data Engineering, Software Development, PCB Design, Robotics, Embedded Systems, and Internet of Things (IoT). Participants will have the opportunity to explore practical engineering projects, interact with IEEE members, test their skills through friendly competitions, and discover learning roadmaps that can guide them in developing their technical interests.
To make the event more interactive and engaging, attendees will be divided into competing teams. Throughout the day, teams will participate in different technical challenges, games, competitions, and activities, earning stars as points based on their performance and participation. At the end of the event, the team with the largest number of stars will be declared the winner. The winning team will receive a special prize box containing IEEE gadgets and IEEE-themed gifts, adding a competitive and memorable element to the IEEE Day experience.
A dedicated Hardware Zone will be organized in collaboration with Electroslab, featuring electronic components, IoT boards, sensors, PCBs, circuits, and robotics projects. The zone will also include interactive games and hands-on activities related to electronics, embedded systems, and robotics. In addition, vouchers will be provided to participants for purchasing electronic devices and components from Electroslab, giving students the opportunity to benefit from the event beyond the campus and further explore electronics and engineering projects.
The event will also highlight IEEE membership and the Women in Engineering (WIE) initiative, encouraging students to learn more about IEEE, its opportunities, and its role in professional development and community building. IEEE and WIE-themed stickers and other materials will be distributed to attendees to further promote IEEE and its values. The event will also include a Breast Cancer Awareness activity in collaboration with Al Beqaa Hospital, since our celebration coincides with the breast cancer awareness day. The initiative will focus on raising awareness about breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection, and informing participants about the availability of free breast examinations provided through Al Beqaa Hospital. An AI-based breast cancer detection model will also be demonstrated to highlight how artificial intelligence and engineering can contribute to healthcare and support early detection.
Beyond the technical activities, the event will incorporate various fun and social activities designed to create an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere for both IEEE members and non-members. These activities will encourage students to interact, socialize, build connections, and strengthen the sense of community within the Faculty of Engineering. Music, games, interactive challenges, and other entertainment activities will run alongside the technical booths, allowing participants to combine learning with recreation while contributing to their teams’ overall star count.
Through this event, we aim to create a dynamic environment where students can learn, experiment, compete, socialize, and discover new opportunities in engineering and technology to encourage students to join the IEEE larger community through the IEEE membership. The team-based competition and reward system will encourage active participation throughout the day, while the technical, healthcare, and social activities will provide a diverse experience for all attendees.
Ultimately, the event seeks to strengthen the IEEE community at the Lebanese University, encourage new students to become involved in IEEE, and promote innovation, collaboration, healthy competition, and engagement across different fields of study.
