Biography:
Dr. Mukul Kumar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics, National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in Photonics and Optoelectronics from NTU in 2025, and his M.Tech. and B.Tech. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Dhanbad and JUET, India, respectively. His research interests include semiconductor device physics, compound-semiconductor optoelectronic devices, oxide semiconductor transistors, wide band gap semiconductor, light-emitting transistors (LETs), heterojunction bipolar transistors, transistor lasers, GaN HEMT, IGZO/In2O3 TFTs, CPO, TSV and TCAD/device modeling. His doctoral research focused on LET-based ultra-high-sensitivity thermal sensing, achieving ultra-high thermal current sensitivity up to 26.2 μA/°C and voltage sensitivity of 9.12 mV/°C. He currently serves as Secretary of the IEEE Photonics Society Taipei Section Chapter and Counselor of the IEEE NTU Student Branch.
