Join Gustavo Giannattasio, IEEE R9 Life Member Coordinator and LMC Mentoring Committee Chair, as he presents on how you can become engaged as a mentor.  Learn about ways to connect one on one to mentor IEEE students and young professionals, using your experience to help someone else's career.  The session will discuss strategies for making the most of a mentor-mentee relationship, mentoring for soft skills, and more.

The IEEE Mentoring Program is seeking experienced Life Members, Senior Members, and professionals who are passionate about inspiring, guiding, and empowering the next generation of technology leaders.

Today’s students and young professionals are seeking more than technical knowledge. They are looking for guidance, encouragement, professional connections, and real-world insights from those who have successfully navigated their own careers. Through the IEEE Mentoring Program, our mentors play a vital role in helping participants build confidence, explore career opportunities, develop leadership abilities, and prepare for long-term professional success.

The program supports the IEEE ProSentials framework, which focuses on developing the professional skills essential for career success, including leadership, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and workplace effectiveness. By sharing your knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned, you can help future engineers, technologists, researchers, and innovators strengthen these skills while gaining valuable perspective and support from experienced professionals.

As a mentor, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the next generation while giving back to the profession, sharing the expertise you’ve built throughout your career, and helping shape the future of the global IEEE community. Your guidance today could inspire the innovators, leaders, and problem-solvers of tomorrow!

Please come to expand your skills and opportunities to give back to the profession and celebrate all that IEEE Life Members have to offer at this IEEE Day event.
